What an incredibly special wedding! My sweet cousin Tory and her new husband Mike made the absolute cutest newlyweds! From family heirlooms, a surprise duet, and even an incident with a possibly rabid cat (yes, really!), Tory and Mike had so many personal touches throughout their wedding that no other day could possibly replicate it!
The day took place at our grandmother’s house in historic Sanford, Florida, under a canopy of Southern Live Oaks draped in Spanish Moss. Tory surprised Mike by coming down the aisle to a live duet of La Vie en Rose, played as a live duet by their dear friends on concertina and guitar. The music, combined with the afternoon light dazzling through the moss created the most beautiful ambience. It was ethereal, and altogether dreamy.
Some of my favorite touches from the day, were the heirloom pieces honored throughout the wedding. The rings symbolizing Tory and Mike’s marriage were the same that symbolized the marriage of Tory’s great grandparents, and wrapped around the bridal bouquet was lace from Tory’s mother’s wedding gown. It was a beautiful way to tie family history into such a meaningful day.
Oh…and the feral cat was okay! Mike (a huge animal lover) did have a run in with the feline a couple of a days before the wedding, and had a pretty bad allergic reaction to the rabies treatment…but you would never know it in the photos. His joy absolutely radiated, and nothing was keeping him from enjoying every second of his wedding day!
Tory and Mike, I am so happy for you both! Congratulations!!
