Your wedding day begins in the Bridal Room, as you and your bridesmaids get ready for the day. This is SUCH an exciting time, filled with laughter and friendship. Getting ready for your wedding day is a right of passage! As you prepare for the wedding day, and put together everything you will need, here is a wedding detail checklist, full of classic, timeless touches. These are the small cameos that make up the emotion and excitement going on in the bridal room, and when included in your wedding album, help to tell the whole story of the day for years to come.

The Dress and Veil: Be sure your bridal room has ample light and windows for natural light. This will show off your gown in the best way possible!

Wooden Hanger: This detail is SO easily overlooked! It’s such a small item, but truly makes a difference in showing off your stunning gown. Just like a Tiffany necklace deserves being presented in the iconic blue box, your wedding gown is worthy of an equally elegant display. For something unique, take a look at THESE HANGERS FROM BHLDN, AND THESE.

Bouquets: Be sure to have these ready in the bridal room. Not only will they be photographed here, but you will want them ready when we leave for your First Look and bridal party photos. If your florist has any left over clippings, these come in handy for photographing the invitations. An extra tip: plan to have some kind of towel or paper towel ready. Before picking up the bouquets, blot the stems so water doesn’t drip on your or your bridesmaid’s dresses!

Wedding Shoes: If you have more than one pair, have both on hand, but be sure to let me know which is your favorite so we get more photos of them!

Bridal Jewelry: This makes gorgeous heirloom photos!

The Rings: All THREE of them! You will want your engagement ring, your wedding band, and your groom’s wedding band together in the bridal room. After photos are done, a bridesmaid can be appointed to get the bride’s wedding band to the groom for the ceremony. For an elegant touch, consider an heirloom ring box from The Mrs. Box.

Stationary: Any stationary and paper goods that coordinate makes a beautiful detail photo. Consider your invitation, RSVP card, programs, details card, and escort card, with all coordinating envelopes. Have the invitation envelope professionally calligraphed, and look for some vintage stamps to add from antique shops. If you’re still looking for your wedding invitations, check out Gus and Ruby Letterpress, located in Portsmouth, NH!

Matching Robes: This gives a polished look while you are hanging out and getting ready with your bridesmaids. Take a look at THESE.

Don’t Forget the Guys: If your timeline allows for photos of the guys getting ready, be sure to include things like cuff links, boutonnière, ties, the wedding vows, and even cigars or whiskey.
